Kid Cudi TV deal
Scott Mescudi aka Kid Cudi has landed a TV deal thanks to Marky Mark Mark Whalberg. The burgeoning rapper has been on a roll since XXL magazine named him one of the 10 rappers who are going to blow this year. Looks like they were right, he hasn’t even released an album yet!
Kid Cudi, now riding the wave of his latest single “Make Her Say” (featuring Common and Kanye West), confirmed a series titled How To Make It In America. The show will be a comedy where Cudi plays the lead, Domingo Dean (named after both of the rapper’s brothers). There are no more details about the plot just yet, but it won’t have anything to do with music. Julian Farino, who also did Sex and the City, and some episodes of The Sopranos and Entourage, will be directing. Neither a date, nor network have been confirmed for the series (but I’m banking on HBO 1st quarter).
I’ll keep you posted when I get more details.

Asher Roth And Kid Cudi Hitting The Road For Great Hangover Tour
Summer outing kicks off July 14 in Boston.
Considering his debut single is called "I Love College" and it chronicles his well-established affection for all forms of partying, it makes sense that Asher Roth would dub his first official headlining outing the Great Hangover Tour. The beer-bong-loving MC is teaming up with fellow buzz rapper Kid Cudi for the co-headlining summer tour, which will kick off July 14 in Boston at the House of Blues.
Among the other acts joining the dynamic duo on the road for the 19-date cross-country tour are B.o.B., 88-Keys and Pac Div. Before the tour kicks off, Roth, whose debut, Asleep in the Bread Aisle, debuted at #5 on the Billboard albums chart in April, will play a series of festival dates in early June and July as a tune-up for the Hangover Tour.
Labelmate Cudi, who has scored a hit with his loping track "Day 'N' Nite," is working on his debut album, Man on the Moon, which is slated for a late summer release. "Nite" has already sold 450,000 digital singles, according to Cudi's label.
